Bhola’s Children is a small charity founded in 2007 with the sole purpose of funding a happy and unique home and school for disabled children on the island of Bhola in the Bay of Bengal. We currently care for 74 children, all part of one big family, learning life skills and receiving education and training for future

employment.  Their ages range from five years old  to young adults and their disabilities are various: deaf, blind, slow learners and those suffering from cerebral palsy. Our mission is to offer them love, care, and a supportive environment where they can flourish and reach their full potential. Without Bhola’s Children these children would have no quality of life and no hope for the future. But with Bhola’s Children, they no longer carry the stigma of disability.

We need your Support

We began as a charity 17 years ago and since the start we have relied 100% on donations from generous individuals around the world. We receive no funding from any government agency in Bangladesh, nor

from any international organisations beyond Bhola’s Children UK. So, when our costs increase so dramatically – such as in the current global cost-of-living crisis – this causes very direct, and personal, suffering for our children. In the last two years, we in Bhola have faced a steep increase in the cost of food, electricity and natural gas. These inflationary effects are now threatening the very sustainability of our school and our ability to help our children.

With your generous support, we can ensure that these children receive the love, care, and education they deserve. Your donation will contribute to the following areas:

Nutritious Meals and Daily Care :  We provide balanced meals, clean drinking water, and a safe living environment to ensure the children’s physical growth and overall well-being.

Education and Skill Development :  We believe that every child deserves access to quality education. Through our inclusive school, we provide individualised academic and technical education plans and innovative teaching methods to cater to the unique needs of each child.

Recreational and Therapeutic Activities :  We organize recreational and therapeutic activities to enhance the children’s social skills, confidence, and overall happiness. These activities include art therapy, music classes, sports, and outings.

Comprehensive Healthcare :  We prioritise the health and well-being of our children by providing regular medical check-ups, necessary therapies, and access to specialised treatments.Rehabilitation and Assistive Devices :  Many of our children require assistive devices such as wheelchairs, hearing aids, and mobility aids. Your support will enable us to provide these essential resources and facilitate their rehabilitation.
